Evolution of the Solitaire Game

 Introduction To solitaire Game:

Solitaire is one of the most well-known card games that are called by different names at various parts of the world. The exact origin of Solitaire is unknown but it is believed that solitaire was originated in the 17th century. In 18th century the game was very popular in France and Napoleon Bonaparte was one of the first fans of Solitaire. 

It is believed that he used to play the game when he was in exile at St. Helena in 1816. It wasn’t the end of 18th century that the game made its entry to England where it was called Patience.

Once the game reached England, it started to gain popularity very quickly and within the span of few more decades, so little was popular all over the world. One of the major benefits of solitaire was that it needed only one player which made it the most desirable time by for those who are alone for various reasons. 

Solitaire couldn’t regain the popularity by more than card games were emerging in the 20th century and the biggest breaks of the game came with personal computers. Microsoft decided to bundle solitaire as a standard option with their personal computers which brought popularity to this game from different parts of the world where it was unknown in the past.

The origin is MS-DOS version of computer systems can’t be the simple model of solitaire and it didn’t have plenty of options. It took some more years for Solitaire to come up with better graphics and this was when the video game consoles and computers systems started to have better memory capacity and higher graphics processing capabilities.

 The first commercialized version of the game was Solitaire Royal that was released in 1987 for both PC and Macintosh computers systems. The game was a huge success and there are many takers for it, especially in countries where video games were not popular in the past.

In 1992, a better version of the game was released and this time it featured more than 100 different games. The game also other players to select their own games and create a custom game plan to get a better user experience. 

Microsoft Windows operating systems help the game to be popular in the modern world. One of the major breaks in the game’s history was in 1995 when Windows 95 was originally released. The game was very popular and a newer version was added to Windows operating systems and this was with Microsoft Windows XP.

Today, solitaire is not limited to personal computers but most electronic devices that are capable of playing games have a compatible version of Solitaire. You can find the game on handheld devices, mobile phones, video game consoles and handheld video game device is such as PSP.
